Big List o' Zombie Fake-Outs v1.0
In my quest for complete zombie movie domination I run across all sorts of movies claiming to feature zombies. Some have em, some don't. Here are a few facts: just because you're undead, it doesn't mean you're a zombie. Ghosts are not zombies. Ghouls are not zombies. Sea monsters are definitely not zombies.
Once zombies proved themselves as a brand that will sell, people started slapping the word all over the place, even retroactively trying to sell old POS movies by adding the z-word to the synopsis. The Silver Screen Kid is not having it. I stand for truth and honesty in zombie reporting. So here it is, my (not-so-big-yet) list of zombie fake-outs.
A Virgin Amongst the Living Dead (1973) - HUMANS, not zombies! (Note: there is an alternate butcher-shop cut of the film that spliced in some zombie footage, but it doesn't exist in the true film)
The Ghost Ship (1943) - GHOSTS, not zombies! (no idea why Netflix lists as zombie...)
The Horror of Party Beach (1964) - RADIOACTIVE SEA MONSTERS, not zombies!
Isle of the Dead (1945) - VAMPIRES, not zombies! (no idea why Netflix lists as zombie...)
Rome Against Rome (1964) - GHOSTS, not zombies!
P.S. I've spent years weeding through Zombie Fake-Outs and only just now decided to compile a list. I'm going to have to travel through the dusty recesses of my memory in hopes of expanding the list, but any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Cheers!
